“Being a loner is worthy of glory”
What has your life experience been around people? Do you fill misjudged? Do you feel lonely or scared? These types of feelings happen to every member of Jerusalem. Right now, you might lack self confidence or hope because no one is teaching God’s word. It might be hard for you to believe, but your suffering is for your glory, as well as for God. This country honors athletes, musicians, and other “successful” people. However, God could care less about these people’s accomplishments. Psalms 147: 10 says “He deligheth not in the strength of a horse: he taketh not pleasure in the legs of a man.” While, many people are cheering for their favorite sports team, God’s eyes are on the afflicted. Continuing to the next verse in this chapter we find “The Lord takes pleasure in them that fear him, in those that hope in his mercy.”Since, God is the almighty that created the world and everything in it, it is hard to impress him with any human talent. For example, God gave Lebron James his talent, and so God gets the credit for all his championships and MVP awards. I actually like the so called “King James” because he has a pure spirit and his nickname is the name of my favorite bible version. While, he did put in a lot of hard work, it is not a big deal. Millions of people work hard at their job everyday. Ok I guess he gets some credit, but God barely regards it. To further illustrate this point, let turn to Jeremiah 9: 23 “Thus saith the Lord, Let now the wise man glory in his wisdom, neither let the mighty man glory in his might, and let not the rich man glory in his riches.”This verse adds smart and rich people to the list of people he barely regards. I hope this verse helps you think the way God thinks about many human achievements. Even the smartest person in the world is stupid compared to God. No human being comes close to him in anything. God is so smart that only those who exalt him have any real wisdom. The hidden spiritual life of a man is what pleases God not human talents.
I want you to see yourself the way God sees you. In America, self confidence is a key to life. Succeeding in the workplace and in private life can depend a lot on self confidence. However, there are two types of self confidence. One person is confident in themselves without God, and one person is only confident with God. One Proverb says that “In the fear of God is strong confidence.”Since, this country has largely forgotten God, self confidence apart from God is what is taught. There is a saying that says fake it until you make it. These people pretend to be good people, but in the end it is just an act. True success starts with realizing you can’t do anything without God. When you are completely dependent on him and his counsel, your decision making process is very easy. Every part of our lives should be governed by the word of God. Also, I should point out that God probably is pleased with the spiritual life of some athletes. Maybe Lebron James is a man of God and God is pleased with his spirit. Furthermore, tangible success in the business world or in sports can be a blessing from God or it can be curse. We shouldn’t judge a book by its cover. God temporary prospers wicked people, and he temporarily make righteous people struggle. We shouldn’t get too up or too down, by temporary success in the real world. It’s not how we start, it is how we finish. My main point is that the prayer of the upright man pleases God more than the NFL Super bowl. When we fear and follow God, it pleases him more than any worldly accomplishment we might end up getting. Fortunately, for the afflicted people called Jerusalem, our eternal success is very close. Our suffering has pleased God and he is ready to reward us in this life and the next.
God also has a nature. There are certain things about him that can and will not ever be changed. His nature is holy and good. He delights in his commandment and judgments. He hates those who break his commandments and loves those who keep his commandments. For some reason he creates and loves a people that he calls Jerusalem. Jerusalem has many qualities that my website hopefully makes clear to you. A description of the person God likes is in Isaiah 66:1 which says “For all those things hath mine hand made, and all those things have been, saith the Lord: but to this man will I look, even to him that is poor and of a contrite spirit, and trembleth at my word.” Now, having a poor and contrite spirit can be described in a number of ways. This person is humble and might be called depressed, sad, or scared. Unfortunately, these people often find themselves being a loner. The proud often criticize the humble and if you are surrounded by proud people then life will be difficult. Have you ever been to a party and felt as if you were an alien with nothing to say? Have you felt mistreated even though you did nothing wrong? Isaiah 51: 23 describes it as those that “...afflict thee; which have said to thy soul, Bow down, that we may go over: and thou hast laid thy body as the ground, and as the street, to them that went over.” Even though you did nothing wrong, you let the wicked criticize and mock you. Fortunately, this experience is only temporary and God is ready and willing to prosper you. He will prosper you in the real world as well as the spiritual. However, your success in the “real world” is only a consequence of truly pleasing God in the spiritual.
One problem loners have is that they are unaware of other people like them out there. They are isolated from society and this includes people that understand what they are going through. I have been a loner for the majority of my life, but fortunately for me I was diligent bible readier. Several years ago I became aware of the truth of God. I created a twitter page with all the old testament scriptures that bring me peace. Every loner needs to look at my twitter page because God’s word is better than what any author, including me, can describe. I hope you become a bible expert like me and can add to the list of scriptures on my twitter page. Without these scriptures we will have no protection against the lies of the enemy. Our suffering and heart towards God is worthy of glory and praise. God is very pleased with the loner, more so than any other human being. Many people go to heaven, but the loners end up with an extra weight of glory. Anyways I Have a ton of scriptures on the qualities of Jerusalem and reading them will do you more good than anything I can write. I just want you to know that in the end he will give you “beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness…” The pain you have experienced is so much more impressive than any UFC fight or boxing match.
